This week’s Top 10 from The Broke and The Bookish is Top 10 Bookish Goals for 2013.
I only have four, but they are pretty ambitious and if I accomplish them all I’ll be very happy.
- Review every book I read – I didn’t get anywhere close to this last year. I love to read and discuss books, but I frequently get writer’s block.
- Complete the 2013 Back to the Classics Challenge – This is to challenge myself a little. Last year about 70% of the books I read were YA or light Women’s lit.
- Complete the 2013 TBR Pile Challenge – I need to whittle down my stack of purchased but unread books. Plus save money.
- Read 52 books (that’s down from last year because I’m trying to focus on getting a better reading variety and completing reviews)
Good luck with your goals! I am going to try to read just one classic... don't know which one yet, I need to see what I have languishing on my shelves. I figure that one is at least a start in terms of cultural enrichment. Then I can read all the silly books I want ;-)
ReplyDeleteI might not enjoy reading the classics as much as some of my typical fair, but I've discovered that I really enjoy discussing them and find I have more to say in my reviews. So I think I've gotten better at forcing myself to finish because there will be some payoff afterwards. Although it's not like I read any typical classics last year.
DeleteDitto #1. I always have great intentions when it comes to reviewing the books I read, but I always miss a few because when I sit down to write, I can't seem to get started. Here's hoping for a better year for both of us in that regard. :)
ReplyDeleteSo far I'm doing pretty good. I have reviews banked for all the books I've read so far this year ( I only publish one per week unless I get a month ahead).
ReplyDeleteIf I don't have much to say I'm just going to try to explain why to the best of my ability. Fingers crossed.
