Top Ten Authors I've Read The Most Books From

Every Tuesday the ladies over at The Broke and the Bookish host a book related Top 10.

This week is “Top Ten Authors I’ve Read the Most Books From”.  Awkward phrasing aside – and I couldn’t find a better way to phrase it either - I thought it was an interesting topic.

I’m not counting childhood series like Sweet Valley Twins or Babysitter’s Club.  These are all books I read in high school or later.  That said most of these are authors I started reading pre-blog.  Pre-blog when I found an author I liked I read their whole backlist.  I’m aware of so many more authors and books now that it’s rare for me to read several from the same author except maybe trilogies.

John Sandford 2

Harlan Coben 2

Victoria Dahl 2

Stephen White 2

Meg Cabot 2

Sophie Kinsella 2

John Grisham 2

Patricia Cornwell 2

Janet Evanovich 2

J K Rowling 2

Richard North Patterson 2

Which authors take up the most real estate in your brain?  Any that surprise you?

  1. The authors I've read the most...I probably could not count the books I've read by them...there are so many. Now I feel inspired to think back....

Here's my Top Ten Authors I've Read the Most. I stuck to a subgenre. Love to have you stop by!

    1. A couple years ago I attempted to get everything into Goodreads and I just trusted it to build this list. I'm sure I missed an individual book or ten, but I'm fairly confident I got the stuff from my major authors:).

  2. Great List! Meg Cabot & J.K. Rowling were both on my list, I grew up reading both of them and love them to death! Happy Reading & please feel free to stop by mine http://wonderstruck-kcks.blogspot.com/2015/08/top-ten-authors-ive-read-most-books-from.html?showComment=1439329158184#c1609681414232675341

  3. Great list! I need to read more of Meg Cabot and Harlan Coben. I've only read Six Years and Tell No One by him and absolutely loved them both!

  4. Oh man, I totally forgot Patricia Cornwell! I read all of her books up until the last few years. Totally agree about the Stephanie Plum novels. She is just recycling plots in every "new" book. But I am on a mission to finish them. I have two to go. :) great list!

  5. I really wanted to do this list, but most of binge authoring happened in the distant past and I just couldn't decide if I wanted to do since I started blogging or those that I could remember or what. Indecision resulted in me running out of time to actually write a post. Ugh!

I know Janet Evanovich is probably on there since I read 20 Stephanie Plum books and I imagine I could add J.K. Rowling/Robert Galbraith, too, since I've read what, 10 of her books? I hope you will give The Casual Vacancy another try... it is a tough one to get into, but I felt like the patience really paid off. Also, I watched the BBC miniseries of it... that was really good, too, and possibly more accessible since it's easier to keep faces straight than names (maybe?)

    1. I went straight to Goodreads and just trusted what it said. I've found a few authors I should have included but never added their books to the site, but I was in a waste time "making it pretty with Photoshop" mindset rather than "closely analyzing the data" mindset.

I'm going to try The Casual Vacancy on audio, but I'm waiting for my focus to come back a little. I started and stopped 3 audio books in about 45 mins that other day because my mind kept wandering.
